Yesterday was a day of highs and lows. Literally.
I weighed in yesterday morning at 335 pounds. A 20 pounds drop! I was ecstatic! I was now six weeks ahead of the curve! So I left for work and then told my wife later on.
Turns out the scale was WAY off. 13 pounds off to be exact.
So I weighed again this morning. I am at 351. Only a four pound loss for the week. I know, I know, I should still be ecstatic, but I think everyone would agree that learning you only lost four instead of 20 is a let down. I'll have to do better next week. I have tickets to the pops riding on this!
I also tried to jog some Monday night. That was fun. I didn't die, and I was able to go two blocks without stopping at a time. What doesn't kill you makes you stronger. By the end of summer I should be the strongest man on earth!
Have a great day!

My wife and I watched the biggest loser finale last night. Personally I really wanted Mike to win, but they were all winners last night. Seeing Jerry at his age winning the 100,000 dollars for the most percentage lost outside of the ranch was amazing! and to see Mike, Helen and Tara and the percentages they lost...heck, the weight all of the contestants lost, is fantastic.
And inspiring.
I know I have blogged about this for a long while, and I have had some success, and more often than naught failures, as my wife and I watched, I could see myself in so many of those stories.
Having to lean the car seat back and tilt the wheel up to drive.
Going to the buffet, knowing it is not a healthy choice.
Just two of the many instances when after hearing, my wife would look over at me and give me that knowing look.
So we decided to make a go of this together. I won't say how much she is wanting to lose. She has her own blog for that! But as for me, I will still post my experience here.
So the skinny is this:
- I will lose around 158 pounds, which will put me at 197 pounds total weight.
- I will limit my caffeine consumption to my morning cup of coffee. What this means is that my daily habit of 6 to 9 Diet Dr. Peppers (or more) will go away.
- I will be limiting the weight loss to 2 to 3 pounds a week, to stay on a healthy course.
- I will be having 6 to 8 small meals a day.
- I will be drinking LOTS of water.
- I will be incorporating more exercise into my day. For example, at work I will be taking the stairs instead of the elevator. Now, that may not sound like a big deal, but you try walking up six flights of stairs, with 30 pounds of electronic gear, and not be in shape! It's not fun, believe me.
That's about it in a nutshell. Other than why now. What's my motivation.
That was an easy question to answer last night and I still stand by my answer.
My wife.
Have a blessed day!
